Surgery
Thymectomy
This is a procedure involving the removal of the thymus gland. The thymus sits in the upper chest and plays a vital role in the development of your immune system. For people living with MG, the thymus gland is abnormal. Your healthcare provider may prescribe a thymectomy, where the thymus is removed - this is a typical recommendation for people under the age of 60 with moderate or severe gMG.
